Leadership Coaching


Strategies for Social Change® provides customized leadership coaching services for individuals and leadership teams.  Our coaching programs include the following:

Coaching the New Executive Director

New executive directors often face multiple challenges and competing priorities. Strategies for Social Change® has developed an intensive six (6) month coaching program aimed at helping new executive directors build their confidence and exercise sound leadership.


This specialized coaching program helps new executive directors to:

  • Assess organizational needs as well as identify and manage priorities;
  • Articulate the values and vision elements the executive director will use to guide his/her leadership decisions;
  • Establish a reflective leadership practice centered on self-awareness, authenticity, integrity and efficacy; and
  • Build the confidence and emotional intelligence of new leaders enabling them to inspire and align diverse stakeholders in support of organizational goals.

Leadership Team Coaching

  • We work with leadership teams to create a shared vision for the future, sharpen organizational planning and implementation, as well as, enhance overall team work.

Peer Coaching Circles

Strategies for Social Change® is available to create and facilitate customized peer coaching circles.  Utilizing a small group, peer learning methodology, we utilize a combination of tools and techniques to advance leadership development:

  • Participants engage in change management dialogue, with each participant having the opportunity to present real life challenges for group discussion and problem solving. Each session is planned and facilitated by a skilled coach. 
  • Assessment and problem solving tools and techniques are introduced throughout the course of the peer coaching program.  Tools and techniques include 360º leadership assessments, emotional intelligence assessments and mapping tools, change management flow sheets, and organizational survey instruments, etc.
  • Seminars delivered by experts in the field and access to a library of change management and leadership development articles and tools also augment the learning process.

Coaching for Performance

  • We develop a safe and supportive environment and guide organizational leaders through a self-assessment process to examine their leadership strengths and weaknesses. We also help leaders to create and implement self-development plans that strengthen their leadership capacity and overall efficacy.

Executive Transitions Coaching

  • Transitioning out of an executive position is often a difficult decision especially for founders or long term executive directors.  We help plan a highly satisfactory transition for both the transitioning leader and the organization.  Coaching strategies include working with the transitioning leader to reflect upon and celebrate his/her accomplishments, plan for the future and develop comfortable strategies for saying goodbye and letting go so that new adventures can begin.
